Strawberry Kiwi

Red ripe strawberries and bright tangy kiwi come together in this scrumptious fruity blend.

June Artist Feature- Jen Burrall

Jen Burrall works from her studio in a busy culturally diverse neighborhood in Portland, Maine. While attending the Maine College of Art in Portland, she began her formal training in metalsmithing and later continued her interest at Montana State University. After finishing her education she was an apprentice to a nationally recognized jewelry artist for four years. "The experience of working with a successful artist gave me the building blocks for designing and making my own work."

She combines natural and industrial elements to create wearable masterpieces. Her pieces have elements of contemporary and primitive art. Her work features richly textured sterling silver and 18kt gold with rough cut semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls.

Her exquisite "Nest" series, in which gold or silver and semi-precious stones are fashioned to resemble a bird’s nest and mounted on necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets, pay homage to the natural quality of the materials and speak to the comfort we find by carrying something that reminds us of our homes, or nests, with us.

Her work is not only classic, but unique with a rustic twist. Whether your style is simple, elegant, classic, or down to earth, you are bound to find a piece that you cannot resist!

Sage Pomegranate

A mix of ripe, red pomegranates, some citrus and floral notes, and tangy botanicals-suggestive of a Mediterranean villa's bustling kitchen, strewn with bowls of pomegranates and bunches of sage, newly picked for pending festivities.

May Artist Feature- Eshelman Pottery

Eshelman Pottery, one of our most recent additions, comes to us from Elizabeth, IL. Paul Eshelman, the creator and owner of Eshelman Pottery, has always been drawn to the functional object. Aesthetically, Paul Eshelman has been guided by Japanese and Chinese crafts, the simple utilitarian objects of the American Shakers, contemporary architecture, and the practicality of Iowa, where he grew up.

His pottery begins from drawings he's done of the things surrounding him - rural sheds, storage bins, roof angles, plumbing pieces, boats. He carves the form of a piece in plaster, creating a mold from which he makes clay vessels. The finished pieces echo the smoothly polished surfaces of the plaster, creating the kinds of elegant functional objects that he admires.

The clay used in his pieces is a red stoneware which has been fired to vitrification; this yields a tough, nonporous surface. Areas are left unglazed to contrast visually and tactilely with the glazed surfaces. The glazes are all lead free. The wares may be safely used in the microwave and dishwasher as well as the conventional oven if the oven is not preheated. Each piece has been designed for use and will provide many years of service.
