October Artist Feature- Houston Llew

Spiritiles

Houston Llew, hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, is an artist working in the medium of glass fired onto copper. Llew's Spiritiles are a fresh dialect of lustrous art created to capture the spirit of the moment- fun, culture, adventure and love. Through their eclectic imagery and the stories engraved on their sides, these luminous artworks string together like bejeweled paragraphs in the narrative of life.

Spiritiles are made of molten glass on copper, an ancient medium translated into interesting contemporary art. All Spiritiles are hand colored and handcrafted by Houston Llew and his artists in Atlanta, Georgia. The materials for Spiritiles are made in the United States, with glass coming from the Southeast and copper from the Southwest. Spiritiles measures 5 ¼” x 8 ½” x 1 ¾” and weigh three pounds. They easily hang on a wall or stand alone. These wonderful works of art will never fade or tarnish and may be enjoyed in sunny or humid places where other art may not endure.
